Melissa Trempe is a local author and educator who loves connecting with young readers at school visits. Her book, Ladybug Launch, is about an ambitious chica with dreams of becoming a scientist, and a little chinita (ladybug) that dreams of flying to space. Neither dream is easy to reach, but together anything is possible! Their tale is inspired by a determined group of Chilean students who convinced NASA to send their ladybug experiment to space!
